    1600th Century helmet on Ebay

    Hi there,

What do you think about this helmet on Ebay? Could it be ok?

    Cheers!

I'd say the welds are an alarm unless this was a previous repair/restoration job on a relic.

      .

There are alot of old copys of the kind of items. Is there a serial nr on it??? that would not to be expected to find on a very old helmet.

Interesting looking helmet, but I would be surpriced if it would date older than late 19th cen.

He said it's from the 1600th Century, and perhaps even the 1900th Century. It would be hard to prove him wrong unless you can hitch a ride on a specially rigged DeLorean and do a field study.

What everyone here fails to realize is that the OP is also the seller.

                Movie/stage prop.

No welding in the 16C and the metal is wrong looks like tin or zink

It's probably a Victorian replica, or early 20th century piece. Morions are one of the hardest helmets to make.

Absolutely victorian copy or, better, early 20th century replica made of poor material and very bad assembled.
If you want to take it, do it as an old copy with a price for which is extremely far form the requested one of the auction.
