WW2 Slovak Helmet

Hi,

I am looking at a Slovak WW2 Helmet at my local antiques shop. I thought it might be a good buy for something a bit different. It is blackish with the usual wear and has the horsehair liner with leather chin strap.

The seller wants £100. Is this reasonable?

No decal with Byzantine cross. I wouldn't touch one online that had a decal. I'd have to feel it and sniff it and examine it closely in my hands if I were to purchase one.

Is £100 for a plain black helmet a reasonable price? I am not sure how rare Slovak helmets are, but fancied a different addition to my collection.

Hi Rob,
I think that's not a Slovak helmet. It looks like regular Czechoslovakian Vz.32 lately used either in Germans LS, either in post war Fire Brigade.
Slovak Vz.32 should have standard khaki color (you can see it under the black color) and at least a blue strip around the lower part of the helmet. Most of them had two white double crosses on the both sides.
