    Unknown Spearpoint Pike ?

Interesting item I just picked up.I would like to hear any and all opinions on it's age and country of orgin. The insignia on the scabbard is steel not brass.Blade appears welded to the shaft with brass(Brazed) The scabbard is the main item that caught my attention. It looks old and is sewn with steel wire. Thanks in advance. My guess is circa 19th century.

For starters, the scabbard looks home made - clearly, a pike doesn't need one - so the insignia [flower?] may have been added because it 'looked neat'. Second, a spear whose shaft is brazed to the head would be pretty unreliable - apt to separate at a really bad time and get one killed!

I do War of 1812 reenacting and some of our sergeants carry pikes and some of those have 'scabbards' to prevent anyone getting an eye poked out or a perforated liver. Howevere, there is no evidence I know of that the originals had covers/scabbards. The sergeants back then were just expected to be careful with them!

So, I'm thinking fantasy piece, perhaps from some group who reenacts Medieval warfare or some such, or just a put together by someone interested in sharp pointy objects!
