French hats???

Unless there are some definitive markings in your miner's hat that tell you it is Polish it could just as well be German. These hats are private purchase. What the miner wore could vary widely from mine-to-mine, country-to-country etc. Here is a picture of one I have in my colection that I bought from Germany as a German miner's parade hat. It is unmarked and other than look exactly like those worn in period fotos, and the fact that it came from Germany, there is no real proof that it was German. It is unmarked inside. It also looks like one of the hats in the link to the Polish site shown in this thread.

It is unmarked also. It could be German like you said. I saw a few photos of Germans also using this hats.
