    Can anyone ID this bayonet?

Pictures of this blade were recently sent to me by a local man. He wanted to know what he has and possibly what it's worth. I know its a "Yataghan" style sword-bayonet and looks very similar to the French M1866 style bayonet. I know, however, that this design was copied by many countries so I wasn't 100% certain. Any info would be appreciated!

    Regards,

    Kyle

Looks like a bayo Mle 1866 for the french "Chassepot". Any other markings on the flat spine of the blade ?
        Take a look here :

Thanks for the reply! No, no markings on the blade. I know that legitimate French and sometimes German versions should have the long enscription with arsenal and month and year of manufacturer but I did read that there were literally dozens of arsenals that eventually made these, and many of them would forgo that part. I even read that the Germans made them? Kind of ironic considering that in a few short years they'd be fighting France.

Actually, Rasalom I was looking more closely at the link you sent and I think from that I am able to find out the maker and a relative date (1874). Thanks so much for sending it!
