I came across this badge at a fair recently, it certainly looks Hungarian but I've never seen any examples without the red star. Anyone have any input?

I think the Red Star do not exist after 1989
before it was the Hungarian Peoples Army (1951-1989)

From my information this was the paratrooper badge from 1990 to 1993 - they simply removed the star from the strikes. The parachuse is supposed to be at an angle - not straight up and down. But dont fear - I have seen many photos of the badge being worn by Hungarian paratroopers who thought the badge should also have the parachute vertical - and as a result left the star on a tilt...Comment
