    Mysterious ribbon of WW2

    Hi,

Ribbon bar of a uniform of a Brazilian soldier who fought in WW2 in the BEF (Brazilian Expedionary Forces) in Italy with U.S. 5th Army:

The ribbon of the right is of ETO medal (The European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal) and the left???

In my opinion it is not Brazilian, American, English, French and Italian. Please, somebody knows this ribbon?

Observation: the full size medal (below of ribbon bar) is the brazilian medal of the campaign of Italy.

    Opinions, please!

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,

    Ricardo.

Well, the wide stripes of the European campaign medal, that look like they are a light brown color, started out as dark green. The other ribbon also seems to have the same color stripes, so they also may have originally been dark green in color. But I don't recognize it as a US medal.

Also, the campaign ribbon is not exactly the ribbon for the European campaign medal, but I am sure that is what it is supposed to be. The actual ribbon had several more stripes than this one does. so the "mystery ribbon" also may be a little bit different from what it is supposed to be. This was obviously a theater-made ribbon bar (and a very nice one!), so it would not be unusual for the ribbon designed to be a little bit off.
