    help with insignia slip ons

I am looking for help in identifying these slip on insignia. They came to me about 10 years ago in a veterans lot. Any help is much appreciated. -Frank

Thanks Uwe! Any idea what vintage they might be? The bottom one looks considerably older than the top three. Thanks again for your help.-Frank

        Frank O,

The top three are post war and are of the most recent design. Earlier slip-ons used a different shape of star and were worn at least as early as the 60s. Possibly earlier. I do not know when the shape of the star changed but I have reference in my books of the style you posted pictures of being worn in the 70s. They were worn on the field uniform, flight suits etc.
The lower one is more difficult to identify. It uses the old style star with sequins on it that was discontinued at the end of the First Republic in 1938. I can not find any reference to slip-ons, if that is what it is, being worn during the First Republic years (1918-1938). Rank was normally displayed on the collars during those years.

        Regards,

        Gordon
