Request help identifying leather flying helmet…?

Can anyone tell me anything about this, possibly, British, flying helmet…? Very dark brown leather, (looks like goat skin); three bumpers from forehead to crown; one long bumper down back center; snap-down ear-flaps on each side; opening for earphone or gosport. Black fabric lining; cloth size label “59;” There is a lightly stamped marking of a crown and, what appear to be, the letters “KAIF” or something similar; the buttons are marked, “Newey Brothers Ltd. B’Ham.” The helmet, “IMO” has a British look to it but I have not been unable to find any specific reference to it.
    Pictures to follow.
    Regards,
    Bill

Tanker makes more sense than pilot - need the 'bumpers' to protect the head inside a small turret / hull.

Thanks for your input guys, very helpful.

Yes, a tanker helmet makes more sense; I'll check out the Swedish stuff.

Didn't the Russian/Soviet Tankers wear padded helmets of this style? The trademark doesn't look Russian but the style seems the same....check "Soviet block" while your at it....

See the Crown, no commie country would use such an imperial Symbol. To me it looks like the old swedish crown stamp maybe of the early 30's.
I'm not sure in the Moment when they changed to 3 Crowns but I think in the mid 40's as I have some 1941 Navy Donald Duck Shirts with only 1 of them.

Additional research has resulted in seeing many of the exact helmets, on various websites, all are listed as Swedish tank helmets. I have to agree.
Thanks for all of the helpful observations and information.
