    Free French Armband?

I recently acquired this armband from a junk seller on ebay (got it, and a lot of other stuff, for around $10). The armband is slightly dirty, but is otherwise in terrific condition. Has the FFI cross hand-stitched to the front and a stamp above. Does anyone know who would have worn this armband? I've looked, but have been unable to find any information about Free French armbands. I look forward to any information you all may be able to provide!

    Thanks,
    Beau

        Timo,

I could make out F.F.I. Service ...Allie, though I could not make out what preceded Allie or what is in the center of the stamp.

The stamp is in English? The ones I've seen have been in French, but I have to say I haven't seen that many and I'm not an expert on Free French items. What I know such armbands were made in various qualities and used both active resistance fighters as well as newly liberated civilians who wanted to show their colours. If the stamp is in English maybe this one was made by the advancing Allies to be issued to their local civil workforce in liberated cities. Does anyone know more? I'd be curious to know as well.

                Hello,

Looks find. The issue with these is that there were a million variations and different regional committees and organizations (French bureaucracy!) and many were very handmade.
