Gasmask and cannister-can you identify it?

    Gentlemen,

I bought this gas mask and ccontainer a few years ago from the store in the Budapest Military Museum. I hope someone can tell me what the country of origin was. It does not conform to any Hugarian masks that I am aware of. It may have been used by Hungary as they did use other countries military items.

    Regards,

    Gordon

The mask. The only markings I can find on it are the size in a large 2.
          The cannister fits the mask.

The interior of the mask. The canvas is rubber coated inside the mask.

this is not correct, the Cannister is a Romanian one but the gasmask is a Hungarian M67 from around the 1980's for civilian use. The cannister is late 1930's. This is a mix up.

I did not hit on an idea so that somebody to the Roumanian can put the Hungarian mask. There are as like as two peas in a pod.

                        Gemtlemen,

Thanks for the additional information. I felt that the gas mask was in too good a condition to be the same age as the can it came in. The Budapest Military Museum store is well known for selling things that are not authentic. This is a good example of that.

                        Regards,

                        Gordon
