    Need some help with some metal insignia

    Can anyone help tell me which countries and/or units these badges are so that I may put them up in the correct place in my collection? Thanks in advance!

    Hunter-The top one is from the Philippines. The middle one is either a Central American country or South American. The bottom one I believe is a Indonesian Halo badge.

      Are you sure the middle one is South/Central America, Bob? The words are in English, not Spanish as I'd expect for Latin America. The badge also has "Commando" misspelled, with only one 'm'! That and the crossed six guns - odd for a military unit, I would have thought - make me wonder whether it may be a fantasy piece. Does the flag of the Philippines have a star stars on it?

        I Had that badge many years ago COMANDO, I seem to recall it was Colombian or another south american country but most def. south/central america. It's very stylized but they are rifles as I recall and the banner on the lightning bolt is VALOR SACRIFICIO, I also had cloth insignia from the group.

          That's Spanish. Some words in different languages are the same or very close to the same.
          Spanish to English
          Comando = Commando
          Valor = Valor
          Sacrificio = Sacrifice

            I realized just after I first posted that the words were in Spanish, not English. D'oh! I thought I had cancelled that post too, but obviusly not. How embarassing!

            I found a YouTube video of a special forces unit which uses the motto and at one point the film referred to "the border with Colombia" (my Spanish is almost non-existant) so the badge may be Bolivian or one of the other nations bordering Columbia.

              Thank you for all your help!! I have verified that the comando is Venezuelan, and the bottom is Malaysian Freefall.

              I have not come up with anything positive on the top 1985 badge yet......But I found this today, and they are strikingly similar....

              Can this help us find out what it is?

                The top badge here is one of the commemorative pins for the soviet space program, this is Soyuz 37 which was a combined Soviet Vietnamese intercosmos mission.

                The soyuz 37 crew was Victor Gorbatko and vn Pham Tuan. They docked with salyut 6 space station.

                The soviets created the intercosmos missions and invited guest cosmonauts from mostly communist countries, (india was one exception)

                  Hunter-The bottom one is definately Philippines. In the late 1980's, when I was traveling in the Philippines regularly, these were available in the insignia shops. I never got a 100% positive id on them. One shop said they were a training aviation badge, another shop said they were commericial aviation.
