What is it for US collectors??? OR other?

This one really has me confused; these guys appear to be wearing US uniforms and helmets but are they?

Could someone please tell me what type of uniforms are these guys wearing?
And the most important question of all is which unit are these guys attached to?

They are Military Police (thus the "M" and "P"). The left one is wearing an Ike, the right one wearing a four pocket. However, the unit marking inbetween the M and P looks almost........ Polish??? The lack of collar brass would indicate that they're foreign personnel, outfitted by us. But it's strange they're wearing no other insignia (or at least that I can see). Perhaps some post-WW2 occupation duty which involved international forces? I don't think Military Police in Polish is "MP", so for some reason, Polish troops wearing US uniforms with English MP for some reason?

Strange isn't it The emblem in the middle definitely is Polish. But why would they be dressed like US MPs except for the polish emblem.
Could someone say what pattern uniform they are wearing etc? So we could date this picture.
Are these liners on their heads or complete helmets?

Hi, this is an interesting photo. Free Polish forces were normally uniformed and equipped by Britain. Where was this photo taken? If I had to guess I would say Italy?
The helmet is certainly the US M1 helmet liner. The four pocket tunic appears to be US enlisted mans class "A" too. The left figure is a bit blurred but as said by Dave, looks like an Ike jacket, if so this would date the pic to 1944. Trousers appear to be "mustards".
Could you post a better scan?
          Cheers, Ade.
