Here is something to behold. Could someone name these two accurately, i their names to a point, but it's nice have accurate info.. Any other info on them is also appreciated. Don't worry mates, i haven't begun collecting French farming awards, just something i bought for my parents, since we live in a farm and my parents are farmers.

It's the Order of Agricultural Merit (Ordre du Merite Agricole). It comes in three classes: commander (a neck badge); officer (breast badge with rosette); knight (breast badge without rosette).

It was created in 1883 to recognize merit in agriculture. The award criteria are very vague. I've had World War I groups to American officers who received this order for their service in logistics (usually food supply) and medical service (usual public health). In those cases, it was used as a very junior Legion of Honor.

The knight has a plain ribbon; the officer has a rosette on the ribbon.
