What is this USAF patch?

Could someone please tell me what this patch is? It looks like it might be USAF. Any info would be appreciated.

I would say it is USAF but I checked my US patch guide of over 2000 patches and didn't find that one. I'll print this out if it's okay and see if I can get an answer.

The white-red above - looks like the flag of Poland. Were there poles in the USAAF/USAF?

Probably a fantasy item (every month I get at least three or four "we can make any insignia you want" solicitations from India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, etc.). It's obviously of recent manufacture and is kind of a combination of an HQ-ETO and a tarted up AAF branch patch. Mocking up bogus combinations was fairly common in the 1990s when the repro "bomber jacket" craze was going full bore. The trend seems to have come back lately, especially with a lot of silly color combinations on standard patches. These are currently sucking in the inexperienced on eBay.

This is one of the answers I expected. This patch has been in a collection for over 20 years it is defiantly not from the 1990's or from ebay AKA. Home of the inexperienced collector. It is vary well made and it shows some "age". The background color is navy blue or black.

Maybe someone could post some USAF patches that look similar to this one?

It's pretty much typical post-1960s Pakistani manufacture and 20 years puts it right in the massive influx of Paki material from the 1980s. How about a picture of the reverse. I predict it's glued on black paper (unless someone has peeled it off). It's unlikely that this fanciful/innaccurate rendition of the official AAF/USAF branch insignia would be allowed or accepted on anything for a U.S. unit. However, there's a slim chance that it's something from a foreign country that was "borrowing" from the U.S. For example, there have been quite a few Philippine AF patches that were inspired by U.S. hearaldry and can be "foolers" until they're tracked back to the source.

I just dug it up again and you are right it is on black paper I have never seen this patch before and if this was some fantasy piece made to fool USAF collectors why isn’t there more of them at shows and the net?

I don't think it was made to fool USAF or AAF collectors. It was just a patch that was made for someone's blazer, flight jacket, etc. There are plenty of bullion "real" AAF patches that get churned out of central asia and the far east that there's no reason to make up new ones.
