    Unknown bust/statue, help wanted!

    Hi!

    Saw this one on the net, anyone know anything about it?

    Maybe someone can tell which nationality the soldier is?

            Hi! For me it's polish (1Samodzielna Brygada Spadochronowa) paratrooper in retailored battledress. Look at collar tabs Uniform and equipment is british.

                  I would say Italian as well you can tell by just looking at the stone you can tell it is white carrrera.

                  No way it is Polish as there are buttons on the outside of the tunic, a tie is present, the rifle is not a SMLE and the helmet is all wrong.

                  Looks unfinished so it could be a study for a larger statue but my guess it is just a tourist/souvenir trophy type piece.

                  As there are no obvious Fascist marking on it I would go post war.


                  There is still a very large industry in Italy turning this sort of stone work out. The price is still cheap for something like this less that 100 eu

                          Hi! Yes I agree, helmet look like Italian, but we must remember it's only statue! Someone, who made it could make a mistake.
