          Now this is funny. Frank, maybe he just made a mistake.

          If anyone has any additional info on this cross, I would be very interested to hear if Littlejohn's information is correct. From what he is saying it sounds like this cross was never even awarded, at least oficially?

            Hello,
            From what I have gathered a small batch of crosses both with and with out swords were manufactured. These were awarded by the Dutch NSB strickly to Dutch nationals who were in German military service. The swords were for bravery and without for merit. Hitler forbade their use within the Wehrmacht since the EK/KVK did the same thing. However as a Dutch award meant only for Dutch nationals I do not know if they were still awarded by the NSB to its members?

              I heard some of them were awarded to the Dutch members of 23rd Panzer Grenadier Division Nederland.
              But I also heard that alot of the medals were burned and destroyed by the Local population after the liberation.
