What I would like to know is about the good Lieut. and the committee who furnished the pistol to him.

WINSTON CHURCHILL CARRIED ONE

As I recall, Winston Churchill carried one of these "Broom handle's" during the Boer War. I never hear of such a committee, but the story may develop into a most interesting one.
