It's a nice order you have but unfortunately in the wrong area. What Carl has is the Order of the Crown from the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. This order was founded on October 10, 1929 by King Alexander I in honor of his father King Peter I. This award was conferred up 'til 1970 (well after WW2 by king Peter II). The class is confusing to me as the case states 3rd class but the order looks like a 2nd class. I am not a big know-it-all on Yugo items, so bear that in mind! Hope I have helped at least a little bit you guys.
p.s. Those Swiss jewelers were famous for fabricating fine quality items. I personally like them a bit more than the indigenous makers. Nice score!

My sources jump from WWI Serbia to post-WW2 Communist Yugoslavia, so I can't add anything to what Eric has said except that Huguenin Brothers was still in business in the 1970s, so I don't know how to date this either.
It was given out fairly liberally in the 1930s and often shows up even in groups awarded to Third Reich Germans.

They wouldn't be from the Balkans if they weren't confusing. A case marked "I" would contain a Grand Cross set - sash badge and breast star. "II" would contain the neck badge and breast star; confusing, because in the award system, this is called Commander 1st Class. The "III", then, is the Commander 2nd Class - just the neck badge. Then, IV and V correspond to Officer and Knight. So the numbers on the case appear to correspond to the levels of the order, not the name for the classes. Or maybe I'm just whistlin' Dixie.

Now this is an old thread. Unfortunately no images to wiew, but
the Commander´s Cross was appearently shown. Here´s an officer´s
cross with a poor ribbon. Some clown tried to fix the enamel on the
reverse, but apart from that, it´s a beautiful piece of work.
