The ring is one of the most common things. This kind of ring was given in hundreds of thousand of pieces, the value is a few euros or dollars. Gold for motherland was given to support Italian economy after "Sanzioni" and families gave their jewels, wedding rings, silver items, etc...and they were given this ring.

The flintlock looks like some sort of Mexican rehash of an original old flinlock .And the England mark is so crude I cant believe its original .but old pistols are not my thing .The ring as was mentioned by Francesco was handed out left right and center and has little value .Some of those flags are really beautifull ,Rob

The value on the "Two Types" cartoon books by "Jon" would be about £10 or $20. They are common here as they were a popular wartime cartoon. They showed the British Army in North Africa/Italy in a true light

I want the flags the most...

The pistols look very crude.... He seems to think that three of them are Italian made... and about 300 years old.

I am probably wasting my time with this guy.

After being at his house for four hours yesterday... and talking about every conceivable subject.. weather, politics, Iraq, etc..... I asked him to sell me one of the "Two Types" booklets for $25... He still said no.

They may be Indian in origin and from the war period. If your chap picked these up in Italy they were a large number of indian troops there that wuold bring these items to trade.

Most of the other suff looks orignal. The Irish Regt of Canada may be a rare one.

Yes... the pistols are ugly... He should of brought back some Lugers instead... LOL

Of the patches... there are several bullion, and several more of silk.

He also had a small brochure from Italy from an Italian tailor, or store??

It was only four pages long... but... it started off with words like:

"Allied soldiers... come down to our store... We have an excellent selection of patches, hats, and clothing for your needs."

It then showed sketches of about 25 US unit patches that were made to order.

I think some of the patches were bought from the store.

I spoke to the seller two weeks ago... and it still drags on.

I offered him $1000 for the lot... and he can keep the ugly guns, and ring.

He seems to think the ring is rare... oh well...
