As a collector of French and German pieces of headgear I must admit that I find it much easier to complete my German collection (which is growing rapidly) than my French one.
Though, it is clear that the current collecting market tends to favour German militaria and that prices for German pieces are much higher than French ones. Despite this fact, I struggle to find intersting French hats such as those issued to the French foreign legion, armour and colonial forces during the Second World War and during the dark years of the "Collaboration".
If you are a collector of French cloth pieces of headgear of the WW2 please contribute to this thread. I would love to see what you have in your vaults!! (Si vous preferez parler francais, sachez que mon francais est courant!).
