Dating Contract Number For US WW2 Campaign Medal, Boxed?

Do the contract marks on this box allow for dating of the cardboard boxed medal and ribbon bar set?--

    Stock No. 71-M-919-575
    Medal, Campaign and Service
    Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Complete
    Medallic Art Co., 210 E. 51st St., N.Y.C.

I assume the absence of zip code = predates 1964

    Hi Rick,
I don't believe that one does, but that is a WW2 era box. Some of them are dated, some are dated in the contract number. I tell by the box also.

It is a WWII era piece for sure, but remember several companies made these under the same contract number because the demand was so high. I also remember an old thread that mentioned that there was no way to really date these. Many may have been made years after the war and the manufacture did not stop until the contract ended, which could have been in the 50's. It's still a keeper and it will always be called a WWII piece even though it may have been made after.

The 71 could be the date. I have one of these too, but with the date 45 on the label. Has this medal got a slot-brooch or a crimp-brooch? If crimp it is from 71 maybe with an old (on stock) box and the old pinback ribbon.
