French Helmet?

Hello boys and girls
I've come across this helmet last week, I was wondering what it is. It looks french to me but its not really in a great condition and I havent found it on the internet either, the helmets I've found always differ from this in some aspect.
Do you guys know what it is or could you give me hints on where I could find out?

Heres my problem that the decoration above the visor does not seem detachable, so this couldnt be the same helmet?

French Firemans helmets came in about a thousand different styles ,I guess yours is just a different variation missing 50% of its parts .Rob.
