the border guard patch is nice! More than any special force unit, I think the border guard has the toughest assignments of any force in the army/police.
the tower in the emblem is supposed to depict the watch tower of a "Teggart fortress" (designed by Charles Teggart) - according to the founding documents of the border guard (in 1953), the tower symbolizes "strength and firmness, control over force and watch over borders and sensitive areas".
The metal badges you have, if they're about 4.5 cm high, may be cap badges for the force, from around the '50s - scarce items not frequently seen. Do yours have a pin/screw on the back?
No, the badges are stamped out of thin white metal about 2.5 cm high with a brooch fitting.
I accumulated quite a lot of Israeli badges & berets in the late 70's early 80's, but almost all of them went years ago when I traded them for some old British bearskins or fusilier caps - some of the few things I've "let go" over the years.
