Finally got one!! Wanted such a helmet for a long time and finally got it, a true combat veteran, complete with the front badge! The liner is missing, the chinstrap is still there.

Do you know if they was repainted from bleu-horizon to moutarde or this was the only colour?

I see only this color on the helmet. No traces of blue color. There are scratches in the paint, but no blue color, only mustard. Also inside, under the comb - I see only mustard. The way the paint looks, I think it was mustard and then repainted the same color, again the same mustard, but no blue at all.

          Serb Adrian

This is a great helmet, but it's not WWI Serbian. It is post-war Yugoslav. The wartime Serbian badge had a different shield. It's still a great helmet and looks all original. These Yugoslav adrians are almost as hard to find as the WWI type.

Here is one for sale...at way too high a price for me...

You're right Brian, LOL I just noticed you are correct! Indeed the WW1 Serbian helmets must have the cross with CCCC around it on the eagle chest. And this one has not only that Serbian emblem, but also the coat of arms of Croatia and... Bosnia?.... on the eagle. So, it is from the 20's - 30's. This makes it not less interesting to me The Bulgarian army brought home Serbian/Yugo Adrians in both world wars. Unfortunately they appear complete with the eagle only once in years!

              Theodor,
Yes, it's still a very rare helmet and a great find. I have a small collection of WWI headgear from the Balkans. I have three Serbian caps , but no helmet. A helmet would be great to have but I doubt I will ever be able to get pne at an affordable price.

I have been searching many years for a WWI Romanian field cap, but have never found one for sale. Have you ever seen one?
              Thanks,
              Brian

No, never... This was the only such helmet I have seen so far, have only heard of a couple having surfaced in the past few years, but never actually seen them. As for caps, never even heard of, so far.

                  Brian--
                  Try asking at WorldWar2.ro

That is a forum about Romania in WWII. I have the WWI and WWII helmets. They were hard to find.

                            Wow Frederic!!!!

Screw those SS helmets! Now that is what I call a rare helmet. Looks just like the only real ones I've seen!

I'm sure you'd never sell... but... keep me in mind!

Hi Frederic, your Russian helmet is GREAT!!!!

I have one in similar color and also marked JAPY. Unfortunately the badge is missing. So, maybe it has been Russian, too?

And it has been reissued to.... someone, have you seen before such liner padding and sucha webbing chinstrap?
