    Hello all,

My main focus is TR medals, but I´m setting up a beautiful brazilian display. Here´s some images...
From L to R: Order of Naval Merit, Blood of Brazil, Italy Campaign, War Medal and 10 Years Service Medal. All WWII period...

    Hope you enjoy!

    Cheers,

        Ricky,

Congratulations for your new toys!. They really look great when properly pictured! Tha Navy Merit Order is pretty awesome with the anchors between the cross' arms. But the best thing is that they are all WWII-era strikes and not newly made.

It seems that you are changing your "taste". Are you planning to get anything more?

        Once more, congratulations!

        Douglas.

                  Ricky,

Very nice awards , love that enamel . I have gotten away from the TR stuff and started collecting enameled awards from other countries. I have yet to break into the South American decorations... but I have this feeling I soon will be.

Beautiful medals. I have one or two in my south american collcetion. I could never get into Brazillian medals as much as Chilean and Argentinan medals. I did found a Brazillian medal from 1869 but the ribbon was gone but the diploma with name of the soldier who got it was still with it.

This medal is probably related to the War of the Triple Alliance (a.k.a. Paraguayan War), the biggest and bloodiest war ever fought in South America, lasting from 1864 up to 1870. A good resumé can be found in this Wikipedia's article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_Triple_Alliance .

Don´t know if you would like to know it, but medals and certificates from this war are not often seen for sale.

                            Douglas.
