    Sun helmet

    Has anyone any info on this pith helmet is country year what badge is missing any help appreciated thank you

    I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it is Italian prewar or WW2.

      I thought it might be Italian because of the size badge but I thought they didn't have grommets on there helmets it seems to have dyed a lot from the sun but not that well made but thanks for the suggestion I will look towards that direction

        Italian Pith helmets have usually only one ventilation hole as side.....

          There were Italian-used helmets that had this shape, but it could be from a South American nation.

          From the photos and based on the thickness I'd say it is a cork helmet and cork generally is from Portugal and Spain with some from Italy. That is opposed to sola pith, which is from India and the Far East. But the helmet also doesn't have the number of cork or other spacers around the headband - suggesting it could be a summer helmet rather than a true tropical helmet.
