I thought I would post this medal for discussion. I was told that it is the Turkish medal for "Freedom, Equality, Justice & Brotherhood" from 1908. When I acquired it a few years ago, I was told it was a very scarce piece. Any ideas or comments? It is about the size of a US cent.

David,
This is one of a number of unofficial medals commemorating the Young Turk revolution and constitutional reforms in Turkey in 1908. They were struck for a large number of guilds, professional associations, fraternal groups, etc., which were very active in Turkey at the time (many of the Young Turk leaders were Freemasons, in fact). There are a seemingly endless variety of them, and they generally sell for about $10 to $15. Not really scarce, though, I'm afraid.
