    I am not sure where this badge should go…, so here it is.
    Any idea what that is ?

        I believe Turkish air force hat badge.

          It feels kind of heavy to be a hat badge and large.
          Any idea on the time period ?

            Current i believe. This style eagle insignia can be seen at various Turkish air force websites.
