          I got it from a guy that said it had been in his family, he knew nothing about it.

            Not really but the engraving and the date make it interesting for research. I hope you find out.

              Light Cavalry Trooper's Sabre

              Hi Skip,

              Your sword looks a lot like a French Light Cavalry Trooper's Sabre made by the klingenthal firm.

              Found the information on this site........might want to read what they say about the originals like yours! these are all reproductions.

              Looks like it is missing the top part of the grip?
