One of the downsides about letting people know that you collect is that they think you are a walking encyclopedia for military awards and decorations. For example, a co-worker ask me today if I knew what this medal was...which I did not. He said that he took this from his uncle’s house when he was a kid after his uncle had passed away in the early 70’s. He doesn’t know how his uncle came about owning it because he was sure that his uncle never served a day in the military because he was diagnosed as having T.B. (tuberculoses) at an early age. Any guesses as to where it is from and what it was awarded for?
It is a small medal measuring 6 cm (2.25") and is marked on the attachment device (hook) with the word "DEPOSE" which can be seen on the close-up of the obverse in the next frame.
