    Direct Embroidered Flight Suit

    Hello everyone,
A friend of mine is offering me what looks like a direct embroidered flight suit. I was hoping to get a few opinions since I’ve never owned one of these before. Unfortunately these are the only two pictures I have. I look forward to all your opinions.
    Thanks
    Vic

These are mechanics coveralls. Definitely not a flight suit. The embroidery on back is not period done. Which leads me to think that the patches and front embroidery are not original either.

Thanks for the reply. I had an uneasy feeling about them due to the fabric, which kinda looks like rip stop, which I thought was unusual for a flight suit.

Nothing about the wings, etc. are correct. By that stage of the war nomex was the issued flight suit.

This could be something a guy made up later for reunions and such.
They were seen a lot in the big parades and events of the 80s. The embroidery on the back would indicate that as a possibility.
I recall reading the directive to end the wear of colored insignia by Fall, 69.
It was quite common to see chopper pilots who had prior service in infantry or other branches. The CIB, US and VN parachute badges are not a problem.
At any rate it is not something that would be worn on active duty.
