    Looks nice, SVN peaked caps are not as often seen as say berets.

      Thanks, I agree!

      I'm still working with the seller's family - supposedly this was a veterans piece who had some involvement with army security - supposedly there's a picture of him wearing this and participating in some policing.

        If you have a foto of the vet wearing this hat, that would be fantastic.
        i have seen one picture only of a american wearing the regular south vietnamese police uniform, white shirt and blue/grey trousers, unfortunatly no hat.

        there exists a memo for USAID advisors with the south vietnamese police to wear their counterparts uniform, and not any camo or other fantasy uniform items that do not belong to the service they are assigned to.
        some military personell either USMC or regular army were detached to the SVN police as advisors, but later i think, when MACCORDS was in charge.

          Here's the photo the family passed along of him with several SVN police...

          I found some info that it appears he died in Vietnam in 1966 one month out from retirement/return.
