what do youn think about these insignas? Are they original period pieces?
What about the difference beetwen the two models?

Lots of nuances within each of the marking types.

Both look fine to me - it's not really a rare piece.

Obviously different production runs with some time apart. There could have been a 5~ year gap between the two with the same Olivier Metra marking being used...

Both are OK. The model with the FFL "grenade" is actually type II. The grenade was added to reflect inclusion of 13th DBLE and 3rd REI elements in the group.
