Interesting response to Owen's enquiry.
Supply no doubt sourced them from Nha-Trang's Vendors.

"The cammies were Vietnam isssue, (a little on the small size) issued by the unit to the A/c recovery teams. Due to some of the areas that we went into, that didn't warrant U.S. uniforms and when we inserted and recovered Special Forces and SOG teams. They were pretty much standard issue for Special Forces and SOG teams especially along the borders" Really can't remember buttons on pockets but think they were two buttons "
John, Our source was through our unit supply SGT. Don't know where they got them.

I do not often search Ebay these days and even less so on newly listed items,
but something inclined me to do so a couple of weeks ago. I was excited to see
an attributed set appear for sale again, on a BIN basis. I had observed it last July,
and although I thought it neat, I had no real knowledge of the Transport Recovery
units and their use of the CH37 in Vietnam. But less than a month later, Scott made contact and this thread was begun, so I am really happy to have secured it.
The last owner seems to have moved the layout about, with 2 surprise additions.
The Geneva card, gives me a nice avenue to research the original owner and a crew wing that looks to be legit? Albeit of poorer quality than the R wing, which has a seperate roundel. I will be mounting all the local made items and medals in a shadow box, this set, as well as Scotts pocket patch.
Will be slated for an eventual donation, to the U.S. Army Transportation Museum.
OBITUARY
John E Laird. July 19, 1943 – February 16, 2017. Kettering Ohio.
John was a Vietnam veteran serving from 1964-1967, followed by many years
employment and then retirement from GM. He was a hard worker who never gave up no matter how difficult the situation was.
