            Ditto based on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RS,
where RS=Republic of Serbia (ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code)

              Hello,

I don't think this finial comes from Serbia, people there use cyrilic alphabet and such .
However, I'm pretty sure it comes from Senegal, as a former french colony they keep for their uniforms and parade the french military style.
In this case, RS means République du Sénégal

We could observe a similar finial here.

                Hello Valery:
I thought maybe the non-cyrillic RS explanation
might be that it was a Serbian veterans group
in France. But your Sénégal idea seems more
plausible, especially based in the French style
unit flag shown in your provided photo example.

Spahis never belonged to the Foreign Legion , but to the colonial troops ...
A tradition regiment is still existing in the French Army .
IMO RS is belonging to the senegalese Army

                          RS finial

The RS marking is undoubtedly French and currently stands for Republique Socialiste...lol

You can see the object is French contract made for RS: Royaume du Siam
n 1917, Siam joined the Allies of World War I and is counted as one of the victors of World War I.

In 1932, a bloodless revolution carried out by the Khana Ratsadon group of military and civilian officials resulted in a transition of power, when King Prajadhipok was forced to grant the people of Siam their first constitution, thereby ending centuries of absolute monarchy.

In 1939, the name of the kingdom, "Siam", was changed to "Thailand".

Indeed very interesting, as noted online [link] as follows ...
"The Kingdom of Siam, now known as Thailand, is possibly one of
the least well-known participants in World War I. Siam fought against
the Central Powers by an active contribution, whatever the actual
military value, to one of the most gruelling and critical campaigns of
the war. It sent an Expeditionary Force dispatched to France, to
                              serve on the Western Front."

(below) Siam Forces during the WW1 Paris Victory Parade.
(below-2) Siam WW1 troops, non-French style top behind.
