The topic is about someone ripping people off here and on eBay. I posted about how eBay doesn't allow negative feedback and if not for an occasional good deal I would not watch it.

OK, same guy is now doing it to me on e-Bay on a Jet Pilot Knife. He messaged within 2 hours of auction end asking for more photos and I told him I didn't think I would have time to post them. he bidded and won the auction anyway. More than 48 hours and 3 invoices later, and he still hasn't paid . . .

Are you positive the buyer and seller are not the same person or in the least know each other in these sales? Outbidding then “not paying” seems rather strange. To me this is a classic case of shill bidding to me.

I opened the non-paying bidder (NPB) case with e-bay then he sends a request for a new invoice but this time he changed his address from Allen Bakke in Alabama to one in Norway with a new first name in the address, Espen rather than Vivian Larsen. Here is his explanation for what has occurred so far:

Hello!

I apologize for the delay in communication as I have been temporarily without any Internet connection.
I just had an item shipped to the address in Alabama and it did not change back to my default address.
This is a recurring issue with eBay.
It has been reported numerous times yet the problem persists.

I would prefer to have the item shipped to Norway.
Do you offer the services of USPS?

What a weasel this guy is. If you are an e-bay seller, be sure to block him and don't sell to him in the e-stand either!

I sold my honor ring on EBAY a few days ago to a guy who joined in March and has no feedback.
I emailed him when he bid as the red flag went up straight away. I told him that the item (sold for $16,750 AUD) would NOT be posted until the funds were cleared out of my paypal and specific trading bank account (so that paypal cant retrieve the funds). The delivery address would have to match his ebay and paypal addresses and full tracking and signature would be mandatory. I told him to cancel the bid if he did not agree with any of these conditions. He replied with 'Noy' which i cant translate. He has not contacted me since and has not paid.
His ebay user name is damir.sa42 and is from Moldova which i believe is a country bordering Romania? Virtually untrackable by anyone in other words.

Again, why does somebody open a new account, bid a very large amount and not pay?
Anyway beware of this guy. If he does end up paying and does the right thing i will retract this post and apologise unconditionally

EPay has given up on non paying bidders. By their own account they will not pursue or penalize them. They are just an annoyance and you have to put up with it with no recourse.
Like many of the previous posters I use and abuse this system whenever I can with honor to sellers and no loyalty to Epay. I always BUY but NEVER sell on Epay, Epay LOVES and protects buyers..but deals dirt on sellers. Odd business model but IMO they are trying to turn into Amazon selling gewgaws and gymcracks. Consumables. Everyday items and really could care less about offshoots of that like militaria.
It is what it is. Like some others..I find it a GREAT hunting preserve. Every so often I get a real steal. But that's why I go to the site.

I've been selling periodically for nearly 20 years with few problems. Its a good marketplace in general but far from perfect. You've got to learn how to avoid the pitfalls. I'm surprised that FlorianGeyer managed to list an honor ring on there to end of auction. Evil bay usually terminates such auctions before they end.
