I love the photo of the vendor sitting next to the table full of holsters. I just picked up a cane nearly identical to the one in front of the poster. Thanks for posting these great pictures.

An entire culture sprang up due to the war involving serving our presence.

A lot of Vietnamese were uprooted from their rural homes by fighting, military presence or operations denying areas to people who might support or be VC.

They were forced into controlled living areas with little to do and few opportunities.
The luckier ones were located near the vast US bases and made their living there.
Everything from the legions of laundresses and cooks to carpenters or entrepreneurs of various stripes. The viets are very quick and good at adapting.
The war really changed the face of that nation.
