    Tadpole Sparse Shirt

I am a member of the US Militaria Forum.
I recently discovered the Wehrmacht-Awards and this is my first post here.

I kindly ask for opinions on this tadpole sparse shirt:

I have never seen a tadpole sparse shirt with only one chest pocket button.
There is also something about the brown color of this shirt.
It is supposed to consist of black, dark green and brown, all with a pea green outline.
However, the brown seems very light compared to what I have seen on other shirts in the same condition.
The other colors would have been much more faded if the brown color had become that light.

    This is from Orth Militaria:

Here are a few more pictures of the shirt in question:

See how light the brown coloring is... it is more like tan.

Look for a black area of the garment that looks like a tadpole.

The cut of the first jacket is fine, I can't say whether it's 100% original, but yes the single exposed single button on the chest pockets are fine. Do some research on period photos and you will find photos of both US and Asian soldiers wearing this cut (although the jacket is an Asian size, hence the A prefix before the size)

Besides, why are you asking for opinions on a shirt you have already won on EBAY, why would you buy it if you have doubts? Just saying......

So you do not think the brown color is off?
It is more like tan while the rest of the colors are bright.

The only way you can know whether or not this is a shirt that was for sale on eBay and that it was purchased with my account, is by having seen the shirt there and contacted the seller to have this confirmed.

So Spike, to answer your question and perhaps satisfy your curiousity:

There is an eBay account registered in my name that you obviously are familiar with, but I am not the only one using it.
We are four collectors looking for Vietnam War period items and we purchase what we find interesting for our museum.
We also acquire items for other collectors over here.
However, sometimes there are items that raise certain questions.
This might be items that we either are considering to purchase or that we already have purchased.
Therefore these are shared with the enlightened members of the large militaria forums in order to have their opinions and thoughts on these.

                      I hope this is helpful.

Not every run of tiger stripe is gonna be the exactly same and sometimes there WILL be differences in colors, that is why there are so many fades/shades as they get older.

There are ALWAYS differences in everything, tiger stripes included. Could be where it was printed, how much ink was used, how it was dried/cured and the type of ink that was used that will make things look a bit different.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the shirt you show, if I'm I'm wrong, I admit it.

Why would anybody spend the kinda money that was spent if there is a doubt about this shirt? Obviously, "whoever" bought it on "your " account thought it was good enough to win it.

                          You are absolutely correct.
Nothing really is standard, especially from this period.

Sometimes items are purchased without being discussed by all of us first.
Therefore, there will be different opinions at certain times.

I am perhaps the most critical.
Therefore, I am the one who is making these threads.

There is plenty of info on tiger stripes both on THIS site and on USMF that go into GREAT detail on patterns, color variations, Johnson's goofy terms and different cuts, maybe people should take the time to actually READ what has been discussed. It seems every time someone gets a tiger shirt they post of a "what do you think" post when ALL the answers are there if anyone actually takes the time to READ the well researched topics, especially on USMF.

I guess it's just easier to post these repetetive topics instead of doing reasearch that is already there.

I have read those topics and all the answers are not there.
I can not remember seeing this shirt in the exact same cut and colors.
