    Special Warfare School Grouping Question

    Hey guys:

I just turned up this little lot "out of the woodwork" as they say. What is the little flag from? Obviously from the Special Warfare School, but what about the numbers and letters? Looks to have been glued as you can see...some type of guide-on maybe?

The "U.S. Army" strip is VN made and all the other insignia is U.S. made. You can see where a DI was on the 7th flash...maybe an early one based on the "shadow".

Thanks for any info on the guide-on!

    Skip,
The small flag could have been a gift to departing members of this unit to remember their service time. This was a common practice during the 70's.
Here is a pic of a guidon that was presented to me when I left my last unit in 78. Jeff

      Very nice parting gift Jeff.

The US Army is not Viet made but typical late 70s US sloppy style on nylon.

Hmmm I guess your best bet would be to try and locate the Order of Battle or some sort of organizational table for JFK SWC for that time period. You could try registering and posting your question over at "The Quiet Professionals". But just remember to be polite and introduce yourself first. The guys on that forum are a wealth of info but they do not tolerate alot of BS or "wannabe" nonesense. READ THE RULES before posting.
