      Blue,

he has been helped both on the thread and in private...sadly he has not publically acknowledged the help and advice given.

      C'est la vie.

          Hello Will,

please feel free to ask questions when you wish, there are many threads of interest on the subject both here and over at USMF especially on matters of tigerstripe.

The field is vast and i am sure you will find your areas of interest soon.

          Welcome to the hobby.

ARBYS ...is mystery meat. (what the hey is that stuff anyway?? )

I couldnt believe my eyes a few years ago ,...when i went into a thrift store, and found a set of A L marked tigers , pants and all for 5.00 hanging on a hanger right there in the mens section. Just grabbed them as i started to shake, and about 30 seconds later a guy was trying to buy them from me for 10.00. I of course declined his generous offer. So thrift stores in the USA, can be suprising, although many here who shop em, won't tell you so, to not give out their secret. OOps i guess i just did.

I also bought a original ww2 samurai for 13.00 a while back, and missed another sword , by not being there sooner. Its a minefield ...yes, but it also can be a gold mine field .

Finding any vintage Camouflage today is a blessing regardless of pattern.
Camouflage was invented to protect man from the dangers of war and it is mans best effort to become animal like and to blend in.
It is I suppose mans best effort to survive in harsh elements.
From Urban Tracts to gillie suits the quest goes on to find the pefect suit ,much like Armor ,it peaks then dies , classics emerge , the next step comes slowly .................
Tiger is one of the old patterns that was born of an older pattern that came from experience from WW2 .
It is noble and worthy of collecting but as in diamonds some are more pure than the next.
Get your wee book but please take it with a pinch of salt as the author is a very bitter man who shunns collectors and who has lost respect for the community.
                  This is indeed sad.
So get some tigers , and some DPM and have some fun ,cuz its fun to observe it all from your own view-point .

                          Funny !!!

I have the book and enjoy the pictures A lot .
                          Cvxrtw-345 -p cut in a bu-itee-x -2 give me a break ,graphs and all that ???
Getting your missus to pose in her socks in the garden ???
And the vertical tiger flying suit he put on ebay last year that was in the book was a made up example ,no sweat but did his highness mention that ?
                          No .........
The head geat section is sadly lacking ,when you read his boast of having hundreds of TS headgear but NOT showing much.
His names for patterns make me sick.

You sometimes hear my friends slagging me of about THAT book as when I got it at the LAST great western I was reading it in the KAZI and left it on the edge of the bath .
After I finished having my read and right I left the room.
Later that day I asked my missus to turn on the shower which she did and she pulled the shower curtain.
Now I let the old shower heat up the bathroom as you do for a good while , so in I go to wash my prutid body ,opened up the shower and to my horror me new book was slap bang in the middle of the shower getting a right soaking !!!!!!!
It was open right in the middle and was as warped as a flippin bananna !!
I will tell you what those pages to a week to dry out and it has grown in size ,but its the roughest book in my miger collection.

On the first page it was signed by rj but this luckly almost has washed all off .......thanks to scalding hot California water that has been recycled 3 times by the water and power with god only knows what ????

So now its a standing joke , dont lend me any books as they will end up in the drink.
Or eaten by my dogs ,but that is another story ,book in the shower story over .

                          Fun and games .

to be honest, when i got the book, it put me off collecting tigers,
                            i prefere og107s olive drab.

it s just no fun to navigate through all these codes" Cvxrtw-345 -p cut in a bu-itee-x -2" and John wayn paterns, ect..

While I understand the shortcomings and frustrations with the book.....I eagerly await one that is better.

                              Anything in the works?

Why nothing out of Japan? they have a full color collector book on MRE's for Christ's sakes....

                              Owen, write a book...

"TIGERS OUT OF THE MIST: Unveiling the mysteries and misconceptions surrounding the world's most famous camo pattern"

Or some such tripe........I'm down for two copies...
