Here is the link to my hat and insignia in the international sub forum. From what research I have done it appears to have some characteristics of Royal Thai military insignia, but I cannot find any matches, just similar insignia.

Nailing down the origin & timeframe would be great!!

It is definitely Royal Thai Navy, and should be a Petty Officer insignia. It appears on their shoulder boards.

sorry for the delay.

Beezman is entirely correct in his identification, as an aside the camo scheme would also appear to be of the type worn by the Thai Navy also.

It is of more recent, modern vintage.
