Indochina vet. Insigna is 5th DB - seems like it'd normally be on the left pocket.

Yes I did, found out last night it must be an Moroccan or Algerian Spahis, Only the star is different on the collar tab... collartab is red, does that represent a armored division? What branch of service is the uniform. He has no regimental numbers on his shoulder boards or collar tab....Comment

The shoulder and collar insignia identify the general branch, however the insignia badges will identify the specific unit.
As I mentioned on that conversation, The 5 db seems a bit odd and I'd expect a 2nd badge hiding on the left side or it's missing.
Still a neat set and would be happy to have in my collection.------------------------------------------------
