Enameled Messkits - WWI or Later?

I'm sure you've all seen these minty or at least really nice condition enameled German messkits with no dates or maker's marks. They're typically black enamel although occasionally tree green. Here's one in the classic field grey. Are these enameled, undated, and un-marked examples wartime or are they perhaps inter-war?

Good question. I've never seen one of these without markings, unless it was badly worn. Although; I have seen very nice matching enameled feldgrau drinking cups w/o markings. Having said that, I believe yours could very well be wartime as well.

I have several minty/really nice feldgrau enameled messkits, however; all are marked. One is pictured below...
