Nice pickelhaube thoughts

Hi guys a friend just show me this yesterday and thinking to sell it to me as it is not a collector.
What are your thoughts about it ...marking etc ...?

Appears to be a helmet stamped to the 7th infantry regiment which i do not believe had any Bavarian elements in it. I would guess either someone restored it improperly or it was taken out of service and reissued to a man in a Bavarian reserve regiment.

The Bavarian regiments were numbered in their own sequence. They had their own 7th Bavarian infantry regiment. Sometimes but not always they threw a B in there to denote Bavarian.

For me the patina of the spike and wappen do not match. On the inside I see the print of the reenforcement plate for the spike which is not present anymore. Restored imo.

Me too. Good point about the mounting support plate. The spike and base are not tight anymore. Removed at some point and re-attached? The leather is awesome.

Thanks guys for help this one was watched and caught by a working colleague at a house clearance 30 years ago ....
This helmet was in the way to the dusbin and he caught it for free !
