A friend of mine has this helmet and he plans to sell it. He would like to know if there are any issues with this helmet, and what a fair price would be for both buyer and seller if he chooses to sell it. I don't know much about helmets this old. Can anyone give an estimate of what they go for?

It's nice to see an uncleaned example of one of these enlisted pattern helmets to parade. I can't quite tell for certain, but it looks like it has the correct tombac cavalry chinscales, and not brass cavalry chinscales on the helmet.
Looks like a large size, 61.5 if I'm reading correctly on the underside of the rear visor trim.
The blackened finish is worn off the small black eagle in the center of the front plate emblem. Not a big deal.
It would be interesting to see if there are any issue markings under either the right or left side kokarde disks, below the area where the chinscales attach to the sides of the helmet. It might read either "G.d.C" or "G.K.", with a Roman number I, II, III, IV, or V, and another set of Arabic numerals for the helmet issue number.
I'll send a private message with a price range for one of these.

value is more in the $5000 to $7000 range as it is EM model and not officer.

Glad to see a couple other serious experts that I know here (James and nzef1940) add their comments, and see that we are all on the same page for the value, and stating that it's an enlisted pattern model, and not an officer helmet.

That’s because you all bandy around silly prices like $10000 or $7500. You create your own price enemy. We are not auction houses or high end dealers. But good luck to the guy I hope he gets $7500 for it. When you are handing over $7500 in cash to a guy who then says wow I would have been happy with grand you will be thinking **** that’s actually a lot of cash for a helmet that Rob will probably buy on eBay for $500 this month.
