It's a mail home helmet. Paint is original, liner and chins trap looks original. It's named. In my opinion, worth $1000+

Nice helmet shame about the rear rivett, the best bit is the Grand Central Railway station label that's the sprinkles on the ice cream right there . I would guess $800 + Rob

There's no doubt it's original, but I would take a closer look at the black painted divider lines separating the colors, and the two remaining front liner pins. Too me, it appears that much of these lines have been scraped away exposing original feldgrau paint between the colors. The bends on the prongs do not appear to be from shrinkage of the thick leather liner band. Because of this and the missing rear liner pin, the liner may have been added to this shell. The mail home label is nice, most found are unreadable.

i see nothing wrong with this helmet, it's all original. price? whatever the market will bear. $800 plus sounds reasonable, even with the missing rear liner pin, which cannot be replaced i would use a wooden dowel in its place, made from a piece of a chopstick to prevent further damage to the liner if left loose like this...
