    Buckle for Review

    I was curious myself recently about the brass on brass and am told mine is a private purchase. I can't speak to the style on the back entirely, but it does seem to be a legitimate example.

      The buckle "box" or "frame" is 100% good. It is a private purchase style buckle.

      Sometimes you'll see these marked "D.R.G.M." with a patent number on the backside of the brass box or frame of the buckle. Sometimes they will simply be marked "D.R.G.M." on the roller pin without any number on the roller pin. Most often they are found just like this one, with no markings on it.

      I have one or two buckles with the brass disk on the front as this one has. Not sure why the disk is not nickle silver, and what the significance of the disk is being brass on these examples.

            Easily helps ID the buckle as private purchase, but I do not think there is any significance behind the brass on brass. It just happens to be how a number of companies chose to make them.
