    WW1 German uniform?

Please forgive my ignorance. Is this man wearing a WW1 era German uniform? His visor cap and jacket appear to be leather. Thank you

Yes and also drove staff cars and dispatch motorcycles and were the main branch used to staff the tank detachments. These uniforms were also used to some degree by air crews of both planes and air ships, as well as some railway military crews.

Yes and he is wearing the motorcycle insignia on the collar. After the war these uniforms were associated with the Kampfwagon armored car crews and later with the Reichswehr motorized units.
