Well, I don't want to give a wrong answer. I'd look at any traditions in uniforms for Baden, pre 1897. In 1897 the Reichs-Kokarde in Red-White-Black was introduced for all ranks to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kaiser Wilhelm I.

Not sure if that colouring combo is for mounted units of any kind, or if it may even be for a dog catcher or postman.

Just my zwei Pfenning for any alternate leads if you have not thought of them.

You are not getting a response because most likely no one knows what it is. It does not fit any of the imperial colour schemes. If the cap top was blue or field grey it would have been Bayerische Jaeger or MG but as it is not (neither top colour not cockade match), I do not know.

The duo coloured inside covering is also unusual.
